Style File: Harry

I haven't done a style file for ages now. I admire Scott Schuman from The Sartorialist because asking someone to pose for a picture and look natural is a harder than you think. I think that is why most of his subjects are often models or people in fashion who are customary posers. Harry, my brother, is not a customary poser, however he does know that when I say can I take pictures of you to put on my blog he obliges.

I have done a style file on Harry before. It's funny to look back at my previous style files of Harry as he has grown up and changed quite a bit in the last year- the main difference being his hair. Anyway, here is Harry.

Harry wears:
Skinny Jeans: Topshop
T-Shirt: Friends
Denim Jacket: Urban Outfitters
Beanie: Vintage Shop
Socks: Jack Wills
Shoes: Adidas

Thanks Harry. X

Couture Fashion Week Street Style

Street style pictures that were so fantastic, I couldn't not share them with y'all.

That print

Those sunglasses

Those trousers

That top (it is by Claudie Perlott- probably my favourite designer)

That dress and sunglasses

The whole quirky ensemble

That printed peplem, and sheer skirt.  This one you have to double take and look at the exquisite detail.

The ice blonde hair, and printed skirt.

That Dolce and Gabanana sexy sophisticated dress. Those sunglasses. That hair.

Monochrome at it's best.

Olivia Palermo Street Style

Olivia Palermo always looks polished, chic and bang on trend.  Here is a recent street style shot of the style icon.  I want those shoes.

Street Style: Horrendous turned Fabulous

This street style should not work.  I mean, she is wearing a large shapeless shirt as a dress with a long icky yellowy cream floral fabric coat over the top with a burgundy bag.  The average lady Jane would look horrific in this outfit- but it totally works for her and she looks great.

I think her amazing figure enables her to wear a shapeless shirt, her fresh- face allowing her to pull off that coat.  This shot just proves that fashion can only exist with style.  Without the innate style and personality from the model, there would be no fashion- just a horrendous collaboration of garments. Don't you agree?

What Elle Wears to Work

Elle Magazine has to be my favourite Fashion magazine to read.  Their articles are great and their continual report on fashion is quirky, fresh and easy to read. There is no wonder that the people who create Elle are, in my mind, the bees knees. This is one online column which I love and do keep up to date with: What Elle wear to work. Here are some of my favourite recents.

I love this column because it is essentially street style: how real people wear amazing clothes.  Of course they have access to the latest and greatest garments, have a professional in-house photographer, have an air-brusher and probably stage every single one of these photos. However, I cant help but buy into the ideology that the Elle photographer just caught these babes on their lunch break... That is half of Fashion though isnt it?  - The illusion.

Street Style: Aya Monteverde

Aya Monteverde is a random girl caught on camera by the Vogue Street style photographer. These photos came from the street style blog that Vogue.com have going. Like with the Sartorialist's photo's, I think this photo captures the person. Aya has such a great personal style but also has a really beautiful face. I thought that her street style photos were worth sharing as she reminded me that style is personal and that when we dress we must stick to our roots and dress how ever we feel most comfortable; even if that is a poo coloured beanie or the leopard print leggings we were told were so 2008.  If we feel really comfortable and confident, it will always look good.

Aya wears:
Hat: Carhartt
Coat: Comptoir des Cotonniers
Shoes: Nike x Liberty trainers
Jumper: Topshop
Leggings: ZARA
Bag: Monocle
Flowers: Colombia Road Flower Market
Eyeshadow: Chanel
Mascara: Chanel

Cold Cold Freezing Cold

If you are like me and havent stepped outside today because it is so freezing cold then lets all take a moment to think about those in Milan.  Why Milan?  Because it is Fashion Week there darling, and, like the celebrities at the Oscars, our beloved fashion bloggers, editors and fashion front row clan are standing out in the blustery wind, in their fashion worthy (not snow, wind and sleet worthy) beautiful outfits.  These sub- zero temperatures call for the 'unfashionable' ugg boot, a big puffer jacket and a hat that covers little ears.  Instead, this season has dictated our front row fancies to wear pointed courts, cigarette pants and structured coats...

Style File: Elena Perminova

Elena Perminova is a Russian designer and style icon. I reckon she is best friends with Miroslava Duma and is in the "Russian Mafia" of the fashion week crowd- but thats just me guessing the friendship groups and politics I've been feed through the media about who attends fashion week.  I found these photos on ELLE magazines website and thought she looked fantastic. So why not share her glorious taste in clothes?

Coat: Helen Yarmack
Jeans: H & M
